BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, August 28, 2006 - The eldest son of British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been released from a Barbados hospital and has returned to Britain.

Euan, 22, was taken to hospital on Thursday complaining of stomach pains. Doctors initially thought that Euan would have to undergo surgery but they changed their minds and described his condition as not serious. He was discharged from hospital Friday night.

His father returned to work Friday morning and his mother Cherie remained in Barbados at his bedside in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, one mile outside of Bridgetown.

The Blairs were on a three week vacation in Barbados staying at Sir Richard Cliff's multi-million dollar mansion on the island's so-called "platinum coast".

Also on vacation in Barbados were his younger brothers Nicky, 20, and Leo, six and his sister Kathryn, 18.
