NASSAU, Bahamas, September 13, 2006 - Friday is the earliest that results of an autopsy on Daniel Wayne Smith, son of American actress and model, Anna Nicole Smith, would be released.

Initial reports indicate that he died from a massive heart attack while visiting his mother at the maternity ward of Doctors Hospital in Nassau. What brought on the attack is yet to be revealed however a hospital source has been quoted as saying that it was likely an overdose of the anti-depressants found in his system however a release from Anna Nicole earlier said that "We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor".

His mother, who was granted residency in The Bahamas just last week, apparently developed complications from giving birth and remained in the hospital for three days. It was during that time that her 20-year old son visited her. Reports are then conflicting about how he died.

Initial reports suggested that he sat in a chair at her bedside and seemingly fell asleep. When she tried to rouse him, he did not respond and she raised the alarm. Doctors tried unsuccessfully for 22 minutes to revive him.

An inside source at the hospital, however, was quoted by the Nassau Guardian as saying that he went into an uncontrollable vomiting fit, throwing up blood a. The newspaper said that the room was a "total mess" with "vomit and blood everywhere". The source also reported that Anna Nicole went into a violent rage at her inability to help Daniel Wayne whom she gave birth to when she was 18 years old.

During the resuscitation effort, the source reported that oxygen could not be found, something that the hospital vehemently denied.

"That's nonsense," the hospital chief was quoted as saying. "That's total nonsense. I can't make any other comments at this time because number one, it's a police matter and number two, it's confidentiality of the patient that we will preserve."

Initially the incident was hushed up by authorities who would only confirm that "a Caucasian male was discovered sometime after 9 am" in the hospital.

Pathologist at The Princess Margaret Hospital, Govindo Raju, is conducting the autopsy. Toxicology results are yet to be received which will complete the investigation into his death.

Anna Nicole Smith (born Vickie Lynn Hogan on November 28, 1967), is an American actress and model who first gained popularity as Playboy magazine's 1993 Playmate of the Year. Her career and public image subsequently suffered as her weight gain and bizarre antics were put on display in supermarket tabloids and in her short-lived reality television show. More recently, Smith slimmed down and became the spokesperson for the weight loss product TrimSpa.

She married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 - a man 63 years her senior. She was at the time working as an exotic dancer in a nightclub in Houston under various assumed name. It was here that Marshall, a frequent customer of the strip club met Smith. The year after their marriage, Marshall  died and Smith remains locked in a Court battle over his inheritance.

Smith's career took off after appearing on the cover of the March 1992 issue Playboy magazine wearing a low-cut evening gown. She secured a contract to replace supermodel Claudia Schiffer in the Guess? jeans ad campaign in a series of sultry black and white photographs. Guess? capitalized on Anna Nicole's strong resemblance to sex symbol Jayne Mansfield and even put her in Jayne inspired photo sessions. Smith then posed nude for Playboy as the May 1992 centerfold (under her given name). Tall, blonde, sexy and zaftig, Smith was subsequently called "the next Marilyn Monroe" in press reports, a comparison she encouraged by wearing a hair style reminiscent of Monroe's, as well as her trademark white dress. Smith was chosen to be the 1993 Playmate of the Year.

Her son played small roles in two of her movies - Skyscraper and To The Limit.
