CALGARY, Canada, June 26, 2008 – Canadian airline, WestJet, is introducing non-stop service to two Caribbean destinations and increasing flights to others later this year.
The carrier announced Wednesday that it would begin seasonal non-stop service to Bridgetown, Barbados and La Romana, Dominican Republic from November 3, as part of its enhanced winter schedule.
The Barbados non-stop service will be provided four times weekly while travel to Dominican Republic will be once a week.
WestJet also announced increased frequencies from Toronto to the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, St Lucia and the Dominican Republic.
“With 20 destinations in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, we continue to deliver on our international expansion strategy and strengthen our position as a strong and rapidly growing player on the international scene,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing.
These announcements will bring WestJet’s existing scheduled destinations to 49.
