Rihanna Tipped to Create History by Becoming First Black Woman to Create Collection with Louis Vuitton

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Tuesday January 22, 2019 – Barbadian multiple award-winning singer, actress, makeup mogul and fashion designer Rihanna is reportedly set to become the first black woman to create a luxury collection with Louis Vuitton.

Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) is reporting multiple sources as confirming that the world’s largest luxury group, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) has been in secret discussions with Rihanna to launch a luxury house under her name.

It said LVMH has already handpicked some of its own employees to work on the project along with the superstar and some of her key associates.

One source told WWD that the collection will span ready-to-wear, leather goods and accessories, and could be released in tandem with the pop star’s ninth album, expected out sometime later this year.

Rihanna has dominated the fashion industry for several years. Apart from her Fenty Beauty makeup line, her fashion connections include a role as creative director of Puma, collections with Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear, a high street collection for River Island, collections and an ambassadorship with Dior—she was the first black spokesperson for Dior—, a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, and collaboration with luxury jewellery brand Chopard.
