HAVANA, Cuba, Friday March 9, 2012 – Cuba has been excluded from the 6th Summit of the Americas scheduled to take place in April.

But the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said Cuba rejected its exclusion due to pressure by the United States.

He said the US government’s attitude was unacceptable and unjustified, noting that from the inception, Cuba’s participation in the Cartagena de Indias forum was vetoed.

Parrilla further stressed that discussing issues relating to Cuba behind closed doors without it being represented was “unacceptable”.

The minister charged that the stance being taken by America was part of its scorn on the dignity of the countries of the region, and part of an economic, political and media blockade to undermine the confidence of the people on the Revolution.
