Chavez says humanity’s future being decided in Venezuela
CARACAS, Venezuela, Wednesday July 04, 2012 – President Hugo Chavez says that “the future of humanity”, between socialism and capitalism, is being decided “in many ways here in Venezuela”.
Chavez, currently the favourite candidate to win the presidential elections on October 7, made the observation after heading a parade of people from all walks of life to the Constitucion Avenue in Maracay, Aragua, after covering an 18-kilometer route.
“We have recovered national independence and we cannot lose it,” the president stated.
Chavez also urged supporters not to engage in “triumphalism”, even though some polls report a 20-point advantage over opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.
“We will fight each day, each night, to get the 7 million votes needed for October 7 and inflict the bourgeoisie a devastating knock out. Although current conditions are in our favour, the victory will not come as a divine miracle. The best factor to get it is the deployment of the people,” he indicated.
“Here in Venezuela, the future of humanity, between socialism and capitalism, is being decided in many ways,” the president stressed. Click here to receive free news bulletins via email from Caribbean360. (View sample)
