ST JOHN'S, Antigua, Wednesday March 23, 2011 - The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) has entered into an agreement with the Optimist Club of St John’s to become the title sponsor of the 2011 Optimist Petit Show.

“ECAB is very excited to join forces with the Optimist Club of St John’s as they raise funds to provide community service to the youth of Antigua & Barbuda,” said Senior Manager – Corporate & Client Relations, Sonya Roberts-Carter. “We are proud to be involved with the Optimist Petit Show, which gives children the opportunity to develop their self-confidence, broaden their knowledge base, and boost their self-esteem.

ECAB title sponsor of Optimist Petit Show 2011“ECAB fully supports Optimists’ dedication to ‘Bringing Out the Best in Kids’ and will continue to work with the organisation on ventures that make a positive difference in the lives of our young people. We are dedicated to assisting projects in our communities aimed at empowering young people to be the best that they can be.”

The show is an annual contest held in July and showcases the talents of children between the ages of 9 and 11.

“The show has not been unscathed by the economic challenges and in a quest to continue to produce a show of high quality, the club decided to seek the assistance of the corporate community in developing a partnership for the hosting of the show,” club president Karen Harris-Quinland said.

“We have been hosting this show for over 18 years, and we have been amazed at the development of the children who have participated in the show. We are therefore very grateful to ECAB for being on board with us with this project.”

The ECAB Optimist Petit Show 2011 will be held mid-July and registration for auditions is currently open. Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 16, 10 am at Heritage Hotel. Call 771-1069 for details.
