ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Wednesday February 15, 2012 – Antiguans will soon be able to enjoy burgers from Burger King without having to travel abroad.

That’s because the popular fast-food franchise is preparing to open its doors in the Deluxe Cinema building on High Street. “A restaurant with quality food, quick service and an easy going price was greatly needed in Antigua,” said owner Stuart Wexelman.

The establishment is currently under construction and is slated to open in a few months. Once completed, it will be one of more than 12,300 Burger Kings in 73 countries and US territories worldwide.

Mr. Wexelman and company intends to open two additional Burger Kings in the St John’s area in the near future.

He added that the restaurant would be a welcomed addition to the Antiguan fast-food market, especially as it was a recognised brand and favoured over a lot of other fast food brands.

Ms. Wexelman further stated that the nearby KFC will provide competition, but noted that their presence was actually good for business. Click here to receive free news bulletins via email from Caribbean360. (View sample)
