Bahamian Resort Discontinues Single-Use Plastics in Effort to Help Save the Environment

Management of Breezes says this is just a start.

NASSAU, The Bahamas, Wednesday July 4, 2018
– Breezes Resort & Spa in The Bahamas has eliminated single-use plastics resort-wide in a concerted effort to reduce the carbon footprint and offer guests more eco-friendly surroundings.

“Eliminating single-use plastics across our property is one of the many ways Breezes Bahamas is helping to make an environmental change,” said Zein Issa-Nakash, vice president of marketing for the resort. “This is just the beginning, as we are constantly trying to find effective ways of becoming ‘greener’ for our guests.”

To recognize Breezes Bahamas for its commitment to help save the environment, TripAdvisor has honored the Super-Inclusive® resort with the GreenLeaders Silver Level award. In order to maintain this title, Breezes must be committed to high-level green practice standards such as energy-efficient light bulbs, guest room appliances and windows, linen/towel reuse program, water-efficient faucets, toilets, and showers, as well as the ability for guests to learn more about the hotel’s green practices.

As TripAdvisor’s award for both the #1 green hotel in Nassau and the #4 top resort in Nassau, Breezes offers biodegradable toiletries, routine energy usage checks and staff training on the ways to implement the hotel’s green practices.

Breezes, The Bahamas’ first and only super-inclusive resort which sits on a 1,000-foot stretch of legendary Cable Beach in the capital, Nassau, was also awarded TripAdvisor’s 2018 Certificate of Excellent due to the consistent superb reviews from travellers in regards to accommodations, attractions, and restaurants.
