Barbados’ Magnet Man Says ‘I Do’

Hardbeatnews, BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Thurs., Dec. 8, 2005: Bajan international recording artiste, Magnet Man, has said goodbye to his single life and ‘I Do,’ to Image Allison, an executive at his record label.

The couple first tied the knot late last month in a civil ceremony in Cork City Ireland, where the bride arrived in a huge classic Cadillac complete with a ‘Teddy Boy’ chauffeur in full 1950’s Rock and Roll gear. This was followed by a reception at Dunmore House Clonakilty.

The couple then boarded a plane for Barbados, where on November 24th, they said ‘I Do’ again in a religious ceremony in Graeme Hall Nature Reserve in Christchurch, taking their vows on a red carpeted boardwalk.

The Barbados reception was held on the scenic pier at the Grand Barbados Hotel overlooking the Caribbean sea, with Magnet serenading his new bride with song he wrote especially for her.

Image wore a white dress with black lace trimmings at both ceremonies and her bouquets in both countries were made of fresh red roses. Her wedding ring was specially made in Cornwall, England of rare Cornish gold set with diamonds.

Her mother ‘Angie,’ better known as Enjuel Scheherazade, Magnetic Records chief executive and Magnet Man’s long term manager and business partner, gave her daughter away while Junior Shepherd, a musician with the Bajan band Virtuosity, was Magnet’s best man.

The couple will continue to commute between Barbados and their European-base where their Bajan record label, Magnetic Image Records, has opened its first overseas branch office.

Image works as part of The Magnet Man Team at the record label so will continue to accompany her new husband on his worldwide tours, which in 2006 will include Japan, Switzerland, France, Germany and Australia in the first half of the new year.

Meanwhile, Magnet has been nominated for seven awards at the upcoming Barbados Music Festival, set for Jan. 8 at the Sherbourne Center in Bridgetown. –
