Cobra Starship frontman weds fashion designer in Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Wednesday May 29, 2013 – Three years after Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta and fashion designer Erin Fetherston were introduced by mutual friends, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Barbados on Sunday.

The celebrity couple became man and wife in the gardens of historic St Nicholas Abbey in the northern parish of St Peter.  A stately plantation house dating back to the 1650s, Nicholas is one of only three surviving Jacobean-style mansions in the western hemisphere, the others being Drax Hall, also in Barbados, and Bacon’s Castle in Virginia.

A representative for the newlyweds told Us Weekly that the bride wore a gown of her own design, and the groom was outfitted in a custom Gieves & Hawkes suit.

Images of the May 26 nuptials will be featured in Martha Stewart Weddings’ September issue, the spokesperson also disclosed.

Saporta, 33, and Fetherston, 31, tied the knot less than six months after celebrating their engagement on December 31, last year.

The “Hot Mess” singer had worked with jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz to create a unique ring featuring an emerald-cut diamond set in a pave basket on a pave band.

“I know you don’t buy jewellery for a girl without consulting her — especially for a girl like Erin,” Saporta told Us Weekly earlier this year. “[Erin] gave us creative direction, and I worked with Lorraine to make it happen.”

The “Good Girls Go Bad” star was also quoted as saying: “What I really love about Erin is that being with her inspires me to be better.

“Erin and I are able to propel one another forward without ever being critical or judgmental,” he added. “ I feel like she sees my shortcomings, she sees my potential, and she’s got my back no matter what. She’s my teammate and my best friend. There is no one I’d rather spend my time with.” Click here to receive free news bulletins via email from Caribbean360. (View sample)
