BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Friday August 24, 2018 – A documentary on Barbadian-born international superstar Rihanna, which has been in the works since April 2016, should be released later this year.
Director Peter Berg has told Slash Film that it will be out in about two months.
He said the film, which has been approved by the singer, actress and businesswoman, will be “much more a character study than a music film”.
Berg praised the singer, whom he worked with her first film, ‘Battleship’ in 2012, for her enthusiasm on the project.
“I think she’s an extraordinary young woman and it really is kind of a pretty comprehensive profile of what goes in to making her this talent that she is. The work ethic, the talent, luck, the hustle, the vision,” Berg said. “She’s a really, really interesting woman and the movie will be out in about a month and half, two months we’ll be able to start showing it.”
There’s no word yet on the name of the documentary.
