Earthquake Hits Close to Trinidad

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Thursday January 31 2019 – The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre recorded a 4.4 earthquake off Trinidad and Tobago early today. 

The quake struck at 12:10 a.m. about 50 km west southwest of the capital, Port of Spain, 61 km northwest of San Fernando, and 74 km west southwest of Arima.

There were no reports of injuries or damage. But several residents reported feeling the tremor and noted their experiences on the SRC’s Facebook page.
