Earthquake Rattles Trinidad and Grenada

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Wednesday December 20, 2017 – A 4.9 magnitude earthquake was felt in Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada in the early hours of this morning.

According to the Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies, the quake occurred 13 minutes after midnight.

It struck about 51 km northwest of Tobago’s capital, Scarborough; 108 km north northeast of Arima, Trinidad; and 99 km southeast of St George’s, Grenada.

There were no reports of injuries or damage, however.
