LIAT air hostess remanded to prison in Barbados on drug charges


The LIAT flight attendant will be behind bars until at least May 5 when she makes her next court appearance.


BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Thursday April 28, 2016 – The St. Lucian flight attendant charged in Barbados with drug trafficking has been remanded to prison.

Deann Pat Portia Plummer, 33, appeared in court today and was denied bail on charges of possession, intent to supply, trafficking and importation of cocaine, and possession of cannabis.

She will make another court appearance on May 5.

The air hostess was arrested on Tuesday, after arriving at the Grantley Adams International Airport, when Customs officers searched her handbag and found five kilogrammes (11 pounds) of cocaine.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at her apartment and police found 1.3 grammes of cannabis.
