FLORIDA, United States, Tuesday March 6, 2018 – What began as a domestic violence homicide investigation by law enforcement officials in Florida has turned out to be a murder-suicide, after a man who allegedly killed his Trinidadian wife was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound yesterday.
It was on Sunday that the body of 45-year-old mother of three, Vicky Leela Samaroo-Torres, was found dead at home in Vero Beach.
Her husband, Pedro Torres, had reportedly called his mother after killing his wife to tell her what he had done. She went to the couple’s home and then called the sheriff’s office.
But Torres went on the run, and the manhunt for him ended at 11:30 a.m. yesterday when he was found dead in his minivan near the popular Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise, Florida, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
The couple had reportedly been married for 25 years.
Police have not said how Samaroo-Torres was killed.
