BELMOPAN, Belize, Monday September 27, 2010 – Tropical Storm Matthew weakened to a depression over Belize on Saturday, resulting in flooding across the country but no loss of life or major damage.
Matthew, which has since dissipated, lost strength as it passed but still dumped rain on Belize, Guatemala and south Mexico.
There were reports of electricity outages in some parts of Belize.
By Sunday morning, all the warnings and watches had been called off and Matthew had weakened to a remnant low. However, it still producing heavy rainfall.
Matthew was the 13th named storm of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
