BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Tuesday May 24, 2016 – Barbadian pop star Rihanna continues to blaze a trail of success internationally, winning a Billboard Chart Achievement Award on Sunday night.

She beat out Adele, Drake, The Weeknd and Little Big Town for the award that was based on fan votes.

Rihanna thrilled the audience at the Billboard Music Awards, in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with her passionate rendition of ‘Love on the Brain’ from her ‘Anti’ album.

As usual, she also made a fashion statement.

In Barbados, Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley congratulated the 28-year-old singer for her success at the annual music awards.

“I think it is important to commend her at this stage for her recent accomplishments…She continues to make a significant impression on the international stage,” he noted, adding that through her music videos Rihanna also helped to promote Barbados, for which the country remains “eternally grateful”.

The latest win adds to Rihanna’s long list of awards. To date, she has more than 10 Billboard Music Awards, including Top Streaming Artist, Top Radio Song and Top Hot 100 Artist.
