Sandals introduces initiative marketing multiple Caribbean destinations

Sandals20Grande20St20Lucian20Spa20and20Beach20Resort203KINGSTON, Jamaica, Thursday May 14, 2015 – Sandals Resorts International has introduced a travel package for European guests that owner Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart said would be a big boost to efforts to market the region as a single destination.

The initiative, ‘Island Hopping, Caribbean Style’, brings together the new Sandals Barbados and Sandals La Source Grenada, along with the other resorts in Antigua & Barbuda and St Lucia. Guests will have the option to split their stay between at least two different properties on at least two separate islands.

“Thousands of guests will have multiple destinations to choose from. It is going quite well with all of our partners responding to this new idea. We have tried island hopping in the past but it was not as successful as it is now,” Stewart, the chairman of Sandals Resorts, said.

“This campaign will really join the Caribbean tourism product together which the region has been trying to do for a really long time. The world sees the Caribbean as one but each island has its unique feature.”

The project started in September 2014 and Sandals Resorts said it has worked assiduously with key travel partners, including British Airways, LIAT and Caribbean Airlines, to make it a reality.

Sandals said it was now in a position to put its full weight behind the promotion.
