Hardbeatnews, ROSEAU, Dominica, Tues. July 26, 2005: Former Dominica member of Parliament, Elkin Bernard Henry, is set to be buried on Saturday following an official funeral that will include the Dominican flag being flown at half staff on all public buildings from July 29 – 30.
Henry served as a Member of Parliament between 1957-1970 and was also a former minister for Labour and Social Services.
Those set to pay their final respects include the island’s President Nicholas Joseph Orville Liverpool, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerritt, other members of the cabinet, the speaker of the house of assembly and other members of the house of assembly as well as former presidents and prime ministers and other government officials.
Public viewing of the body will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral in Roseau on Saturday, July 30. The official funeral service will commence at 10 a.m.
Henry will be laid to rest at the Roseau Roman Catholic Cemetery in Dominica. – Hardbeatnews.com
