Suspect in Sawh murder killed by police

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, October 31, 2007 – A 26-year-old man who allegedly belonged to a gang wanted in the killing of the country’s former agriculture minister, was killed yesterday by police.

Orlando Andrews, according to police, was shot and killed in a shootout with police and soldiers in Buxton Village. Cops allege he was part of the gang that shot and killed Agriculture Minister Satyadeow Sawh last April.

Police last year December charged Jermaine ‘Skinny’ Charles, one of several men who were identified as suspects in the murders. Sawh, his brother and sister and a security guard were all executed by gunmen who entered the minister’s Earl Court residence on the East Coast of Demerara on April 22, 2006. (Hardbeatnews.com)
