Trinidad woman dies in freak vehicle accident

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Wednesday November 13, 2013, CMC – A 60-year-old woman, who worked as a secretary at the Santa Cruz Roman Catholic Church, east of here, died instantly when steel rods being transported by a truck, became loose and penetrated the windscreen of her vehicle.

Police have detained the driver of the truck in the incident and television reports said that part of Jocelyn Taylor’s face had been torn off by the steel rods.

Eyewitnesses said that the rods fell on the bonnet of the woman’s vehicle as it passed the truck and that the driver of the truck had become very distraught on seeing the dead woman.
