ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov.ember 28, 2007 – The West Indies selectors have made only slight changes in their choice for a squad for the team’s upcoming tour of South Africa.
The tour includes three Tests and five One-Day Internationals with the first game starting on December 14, 2008 and the final match on Sunday, February 3, 2008.
The full squad is: Christopher Gayle (Captain), Dwayne Bravo (Vice Captain), Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Pedro Collins, Fidel Edwards, Daren Ganga, Rawl Lewis, Runako Morton, Brenton Parchment, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Devon Smith, and Jerome Taylor.
Those dropped for South Africa are Narsingh Deonarine and Ravi Rampaul. The additions to the South Africa tour are Daren Ganga and Pedro Collins.
The West Indies began their tour of Zimbabwe from yesterday, November 27 and will play there through December 10, 2007 for five One-Day matches. This will immediately be followed by a tour of South Africa from December 10, 2007 to February 3, 2008.
Clive Lloyd will manage both tours while Barbadian Henderson Springer and Trinidadian David Williams will serve as the interim coaches. Newly-appointed Coach John Dyson is skipping the tour for personal reasons. (Hardbeatnews.com)
