PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa, Monday December 29, 2014, CMC – Rain has stopped play with West Indies in collapse on the fourth day of the second Test against South Africa here Monday.
The tourists were reeling on 275 for nine in their first innings when bad weather arrived at St George’s Park to drive players and officials from the field at 4:30 pm.
West Indies trail South Africa by 142 runs, after the Proteas amassed 417 for eight declared in their first innings.
Opener Brathwaite struck 104 and Samuels, 101, but both fell within the space of four deliveries to trigger a collapse which saw West Indies lose seven wickets for 44 runs.
Seamer Morne Morkel has taken four for 69 and leg-spinner Imran Tahir, three for 108.
