Southwest Airlines Flying Denver to Belize Route

First flight customers enjoyed a celebration in the gate area before departure.


BELMOPAN, Belize, Tuesday March 14, 2017 – Southwest Airlines has begun service from Denver International Airport, Colorado to Belize City, Belize.

It’s offering the only available nonstop service between Denver and Belize, beginning last Saturday.

The new service will initially operate once weekly, on Saturdays, increasing in June to twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays during peak season through August 14.

According to Southwest, demand for a direct flight to Belize has been growing, with 13,000 people traveling from Denver to Belize last year – a 50 percent increase since 2013.

“We are pleased not only to offer our customers the only nonstop service between Denver International and Belize City, Belize, but also grow our international footprint while connecting our customers with more destinations that are important to them,” said Jason Van Eaton, Vice President Governmental Affairs at Southwest Airlines.

The Belize Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Manuel Heredia Jr. said Southwest Airlines continues to show its commitment to Belize by creating additional routes, making the country more accessible to US travelers.
