1. Flying can be a hassle
Between measuring liquids to ensure you don’t exceed the 100ml limit for your carry-on bag and fighting for space in the overhead compartment, flying can be a handful. Cruising is generally less stressful, as long as you remember to pack wisely, bearing in mind what items you can’t cruise with (such as hard liquor) and you’re good to go.
2. Unpack only once
With a Caribbean cruise, you visit multiple island destinations but unpack only once. This will make travelling with others, especially kids, times easier. It will give you more time to see and do more while visiting numerous destinations. Plus, you are far less likely to leave items behind if you pack and unpack just once.
P.S. Be sure to make use of the safe in your room to keep valuables, while not in your cabin.
3. The ship is like a destination in itself
With a flight you are acutely aware of the fact that you are being transported somewhere else. In fact, nowhere is the feeling of being in transit more keenly than while in the air. With a cruise ship on the other hand, once you are on board you feel like you have already arrived. And that’s because a cruise ship is a bonus destination in itself, with countless activities, spa, pool, gym, cinema, restaurants and much, much more on board.
4. Food and entertainment
Here at Going Places Travel we know that delicious food is a huge draw for cruise ship travellers and with good reason: the food is fantastic, and cruise lines like Oceania Cruises are world renowned for their impeccable gastronomical offerings. Some ships like the Celebrity Edge even have Michelin-starred chefs creating signature dishes.
Furthermore, the entertainment on cruise ships often rivals that found on land, with comedy shows, theatre plays, discos, and more for your pleasure.
5. Value for money
It is a fact that you can get more bang for your buck with a cruise as you can visit several destinations for far less than if you took flights to all of those destinations. In addition, some of the more luxurious cruise lines are all-inclusive with drinks, walking tours and even bonus onboard credit all included, which definitely makes those luxury cruises worth the extra cost.
